 Sourthport Parks

Buying a home is a great investment no matter what type of buyer you are. There are several factors that can make that investment sweeter.

One of the things you should be aware of when you purchase a home is the amenities provided by the surrounding community. The parks of Southport offer protected green space where you can take in the natural environment. Great gathering spots, you can really get to know the other residents of Southport as you enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

Alvin C. Caviness Park

Sprawling over ¾ acre, this little park packs a lot of punch. You’ll find a basketball half court, a playground for the younger residents of Southport. You’ll find Alivin C. Caviness Park is located on Caswell and Clarendon.

Franklin Square Park

You’ll find the stage at Franklin Square park frequently used for community plays and concerts. Also on site is a large gazebo.

Keziah Park

Kzeiah Park is most famous because it is the home of an Indian Trail Tree. In order to help navigate through the mountains of this area, these trees were purposefully bent to indicate the direction of food, safety, water and the like. It’s believed that our Indian Trail Tree was used to point out the trail to plentiful fishing grounds. You’ll find this lovely park on Moore and Lord Street.

Kingsley Street Park

Take time to enjoy North Carolina’s natural beauty as you walk through this little park on Kingsley and Bay Street.

Waterfront Park

As you can imagine, this wonderful park is tucked along the Cape Fear River. Here you’ll find a pier to fish off of, picnic tables, and plenty of walking paths. Find Waterfront Park on Bay Street.

Lowe-White Memorial Park

One of the larger parks in the area, Lowe-White Memorial Park contains a playground, picnic tables, two tennis courts and a beautiful wooded area to explore. It’s a favorite for walkers and joggers.
